Three Winners For Crusade
The late Crusade produced three winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday, producing for Blue Sky Thoroughbreds, Bush Hill Stud and The Fort Stud.
Trainer Gary Rich enjoyed a double with 3yo filly Corner Crusade, out of Kileigh by Go Deputy, from the family of Abashiri and Yard Arm. Gary ‘inherited’ the filly from Lowan Denysschen who unfortunately closed his racing yard, winning her second start for the Rich stable over 1200m.
Star Crusade followed for Bush Hill Stud and trainer Garth Puller, out of the lovely mare Stella Mia – this is the family of Zirconeum and Stellite. This was the second win for the consistent sort.
The last win came for Paul Gadsby with Muzi Yeni aboard – the filly named Airbuzz, not sold at the 2019 National 2YO Sale, descends from the family of Gondolier and Corredor. This was her second win and she has placed five times previously.
Crusade is enjoying a purple patch, having produced seven winners since the 28 December to date. The Gr1 Middle Park Stakes winner initially began his stud career at Scott Bros, and relocated to Clifton Stud in Rosetta prior to his untimely passing.
Crusade threw progeny that are the perfect stamp of himself – usually plain dark bay / black individuals with no white markings, and liver chestnuts -an assumed throwback to Crusade’s own sire, Mr Greeley.
Well done to all concerned!
