Third Winner For Crusade!
Gr1 Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade has had his third winner at the Vaal this afternoon, with Roski-bred Onamission, a juvenile filly out of Gr2 winner Tempted, finding victory over 1200m by almost two lengths.
Owned in partnership by Matthew De Kock along with C Gordon, T Quigley, P E White, Brad & Brett Summers, Onamission sold for R120 000 at the 2016 National Yearling Sale and has a Just As Well half-brother on offer at the upcoming Nationals.
Crusade has in addition had 21 places from his 23 runners to race, with many of them being unlucky to finish second. The son of Mr Greeley is a half-brother to Seventh Heaven (by Galileo) – a dual Gr1 Oaks winner who also placed second in the Gr1 Dubai Sheema Classic, and fourth in the Gr1 Breeders Cup.
Crusade’s previous winners include Miss Millionaire (Greyville) and Brave Endeavour (Fairview).
Crusade has the following horses consigned at the upcoming National Yearling Sale, including siblings to Gr1 Gold Cup winner Wild One, Stakes winner Matador Man, a half-sister to recent winner Royal Agree, and a half-sister to recent impressive debut winner, Cat ‘n Mouse, half-sister to Gr3 placed Celestina amongst others.
Last year at Nationals, Crusade impressed with 18 yearlings sold for an average of R160 000 each.
