The Apache At Scott Bros
The Apache covered his first two mares on Thursday morning at Scott Bros, officially the start of the breeding season and his third at stud, first in KZN.
The Scott Bros home-bred colt ended his career first across the line in the Gr1 Arlington Million and earned R17million in stakes in a career that saw him win and place at the highest level in four leading horse racing countries. The son of Mogok out of Apache Rose by Dolpour sold for just R80 000 at the National 2YO Sale.
The Apache was awarded with Equus Champion 3YO Colt in 2011 after his top class Graded Stakes wins in South Africa prior to leaving for his international campaign. He was the pride of South Africa when he finished first in the Gr1 Arlington Million in the USA for trainer Mike De Kock, only to have the race result changed after interference.
His race record:
Raced in South Africa, UAE, UK and USA (all turf) for 7 wins from 1600-2000m, earnings of R17 million
In South Africa – Gr1 Champions Cup, Gr1 Daily News, Gr2 Dingaans
