SUMMERVIEW HAVE FOUR ON KZN SALE
Colleen and Gary De Klerk’s Summerview Stud will be offering a classy quartet at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale, due to take place at the Sibaya Casino on July 4th and 5th.
The Summerview draft consists of lots by Crusade, Flying The Flag, Noble Tune and the very exciting Vercingetorix –making this a draft not to miss.
Breeders’ Cup Juvenile runner up Noble Tune is represented by Heart Of Harlem (Lot 117) a colt whose dual winning dam is a daughter of champion sire Trippi and multiple stakes winner Melting Moments, and this colt is from the immediate family of outstanding sprinter Shea Shea.
Joyful Noise (Lot 133) is a filly by Equus Champion and current Leading First Crop Sire Vercingetorix (whose first crop stakes winners African Warrior and Hooves Of Troy were both purchased from last year’s KZN Yearling Sale!) out of the Jallad mare Jabulani Jive. The latter, already dam of 3 winners, was a very smart performer who won four and who ran second in the Listed (now G3) Victress Stakes. Inbred to National Assembly, Joyful Noise’s first three dams are all black type peformers and she is bred on a similar cross to Met winner Martial Eagle.
Galileo’s beautifully bred son Flying The Flag, whose own sister Magical recently won the G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup by seven lengths, is the sire of Get Carter (Lot 153). The latter is a colt whose dam won three and is from the same family as KwaZulu-Natal Oaks winner Carolera and high class Hong Kong galloper Caracoler.
Last but not least is Iron Chief (Lot 193) a filly by Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade. This filly is out of a very speedy five time winner from the family of one of history’s very best racehorses –Brigadier Gerard.
