A.P. Answer’s half-sister Reponds Moi is off to a fiery start in her French racing career while King Of Kings’ American grand-daughter Channel Lady takes home yet another Gr 3 in the All Along Stakes at Colonial Downs in the USA.

Reponds Moi(USA), a two year old half-sister to sire A.P. Answer by More Than Ready(USA) owned and bred by Wertheimer & Frere, has yet to be out of the placings from five starts at five different tracks around France, winning her previous start at Saint-Cloud over very soft going over 1600m and placing in the Listed Yacowlef at Deauville. She has also placed second over 1400m in Chantilly and third over 1400m at Compeigne.

She very recently ran two lengths off the winner Indigo (Falco) in France to finish third in the Prix la Sorellina (Listed) behind Akemi (Footstepsinthesand). The filly is trained by F. Head and was ridden by A. Lemaitre at the La Teste de Buch track over 1600 metres.

A.P. Answer sold his first yearlings at the Emperors Palace National Yearling sale earlier this year – with great comments made on the outstanding quality of his first progeny, they averaged R132 500 for four yearlings sold.

At the upcoming Suncoast KZN Yearling Sales, A.P. Answer is represented by 14 yearlings including a half-sister to Storm Bird Listed winner Jimmi Choo from Hadlow Stud – Lot 143 named Coco Gold. Lot 83 from St Helier Stud, a bay filly named Quick Answer is a half-sister to Preamble, a two-time winner who has also placed in the Devon Air Stakes Listed. Clifton Stud is also offering a half-brother to East Beach (winner of the Gr 3 Chairman’s Champion Juvenile Stakes) as well as recent impressive debut winner Risky Rosco (Atso). The chestnut yearling colt is named Long Shot, being sold as Lot 195.

Channel Lady, a grey filly by English Channel out of Queen Supreme by King Of Kings bred by Kaygar Stable, Wayne Morris, Bluegrass Hall, LLC & James Scatuor won the $100 000 race over nine furlongs on firm turf going. Trained by Todd Pletcher she was ridden by J. Castellano, beating Idle Talk (Olmodavor) by a length and Clare Skies Ahead (Sky Classic) by two lengths.

Channel Lady is the previous winner of the Suwannee River Handicap (Gr 3) and Stardusk Stakes (Listed), as well as placing second in two other Listed races.

King Of Kings who again lead the National log as leading sire of two year olds by stakes earned earlier this year, has seven yearlings on offer at the upcoming Suncoast KZN Yearling Sales including Lot 67 named Sea Spray from Waterford Stud. Out of Shimmering Sea by Model Man, the bay filly is a half-sister to Shimmer And Shine (Kahal) who ran second in the Gr 1 Golden Horseshoe. This is the immediate family of Evening Mist and Ingleside.

The Suncoast KZN Yearling Sale takes place 4-5 July at Suncoast in Durban.
