Bush Hill Stud Press Release: Boost For KZN Breeding
Bush Hill Stud Press Release: Boost For KZN Breeding |
The breeding ranks in KZN have received a major boost with a recent decision taken by the Tawny Syndicate and partners, to renew their support of breeding in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
This move involves the relocation of the already proven and successful sire Toreador, and the introduction to stud duties of the Equus Horse Of The Year: Irish Flame.
Toreador is consistently in the top twenty on the National Sires Log and even higher up on his percentage winners to runners.
He is the sire of such top performers as Link Man, Jackadore, Deliver The Power, Las Ramblas, She’s A Stunner to mention a few.
His value was once again recognised in the sales ring last year where he achieved an average price of R 150 000 for his progeny. He will, no doubt, go a long way to filling a gap in KZN where there is limited access to proven sires of his calibre.
Irish Flame was himself South African Horse Of The Year at the end of his 3 year old career, his sire, Dynasty, was South African Horse of the Year and his dam sire was South African Horse of the year. He was a dual Gr 1 winner in South Africa winning both the Daily News and the S.A. Derby and 2nd in the Durban July.
There will be a limited number of shares offered for sale in this exciting young sire prospect.
Both horses will stand at Bush Hill Stud alongside KZN’s champion sire Kahal and promising young sires King’s Chapel – New Zealand’s Horse Of The Year – and Curved Ball – the first son of sire sensation Fastnet Rock at stud in South Africa.
