Rathmor Three Wins In The Cape

Rathmor Stud enjoyed a tremendous afternoon at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Wednesday, producing three winners on the day for trainers Candice Bass-Robinson, Justin Snaith and Des McLachlan respectively.

The first race of the day, Callmegetrix, a Vercingetorix half sister to 5-time winner Spyda’s Corner and 4-time winner Purple Powahouse (both owned by Hollywood Syndicate) won for owner Mario Ferreira, trained by Candice Bass Robinson and ridden by Aldo Domeyer. The filly had placed twice previously before winning over 1400m. This is the family of Chant De Nuit and African Ruler.

The second race saw the handsome Harajuku, a Danon Platina colt out of Approach Me winning for owners Mr Greg Bortz & Ms Gina Goldsmith, trained by Justin Snaith and ridden by Grant Van Niekerk. A smashing colt who sold for R550 000 at the 2022 Cape Yearling Sale, the colt had placed twice previously over 1200m and stepped up in trip to win over a mile. This is the family of Arcsa champion Joie De Grise.

Race 7 Ntabazondi, by Mogok out of Flower Power by Jet Master won for owner JML Equestrian Ltd (Nom: Jean- Michel Lee-Shim), trained by Des McLachlan and ridden by Morne Winnaar. It is the second win for this Mogok who previously raced in KZN and Gauteng.

Rathmor Stud are on 40% winners to runners for the season, with over R2,6-million in stakes earned and and AEPR of R55 000.
