Rathmor Stud, home of promising young stallion Noble Tune, will be represented by a top class draft at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale next week.

Rathmor’s draft includes lots by such top class sires as Captain Al, Flower Alley, Ideal World, Oratorio, Visionaire and Silvano, as well as the very promising Vercingetorix.

The farm will also be offering six yearlings by the hot young stallion Noble Tune, currently one of the leading first crops in South Africa.

Perhaps the standout lot in the Rathmor draft is The Vow (Lot 214). This bay daughter of Oratorio is a half-sister to Equus Champion and G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Lady In Black, who recently won the G3 Umzikhulu Stakes and who ranks as a leading contender for the upcoming G2 Daisy Fillies Guineas.

Triple G1 winner Oratorio, recently represented by his 50th stakes winner, is also responsible for Belshazzar (Lot 252). The latter is a half-brother to five winners, including the smart, stakes winner Royal Trip.

Champion sire, and eight times champion sire of 2yos, Captain Al is the sire of Mississippi Burning (Lot 43) –a filly out of the stakes placed Hussonet mare Spitfire Lady. The latter is a half-sister to the high-class Australian stake winners Sabrage and Pinnacles.

Another champion sire represented in this draft is reigning champion Silvano. He is the sire of In Auro (Lot 68), a colt whose dam is a half-sister to four stakes horses, notably G2 Zabeel Mile/Gauteng Guineas winner Imbongi and this is the same family as G1 winners William Longsword and Real Princess.

Unbridled’s Song son Noble Tune, a half-brother to US champion Honor Code, has a smart draft here. Noble Tune yearlings in the Rathmor draft include a colt out of G3 winner Time And Tide (Lot 300), a filly out of a Var half-sister to Met/July runner Mambo Mime (Lot 313), a colt out of Fusaichi Peguasus sired G2 The Debutante second Big On Broadway (Lot 359), and a half-brother to the smart G3 performer Magic (Lot 499). The latter is offered on behalf of Dr Bechard.

G1 winner and G1 sire Visionaire has a full-brother (Lot 373) to 2 smart winners on sale, whose dam is a sister in blood to Mercury Sprint winner Fly By Night.

Proven sire of champions, Ideal World has a half-sister (Lot 8) to G2 Umkhomazi Stakes winner Harry Lime on offer, while the Ideal World colt Oriental World (Lot 510) hails from the same family as UAE Derby hero Victory Moon, and G1 winners Imperious Sue, Imperious Star, William Longsword and Real Princess.

Rathmor also offer Floribunda (Lot 367)- a Flower Alley filly whose four time winning dam is a half-sister to G1 Gold Challenge winner National Spirit. Another from this family is Vitalstatistix (Lot 484), a filly from the first crop of Equus Champion and Jebel Hatta winner Vercingetorix.
