PROMISING SIRES REPRESENTED IN BUSH HILL’S AUGUST DRAFT
Leading KwaZulu-Natal nursery, Bush Hill Stud, will be offering an exciting draft at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale.
The farm will be offering two-year-olds by such promising and popular stallions as Global View, Pomodoro, The United States and William Longsword, and will also be offering, as agent, lots sired by all of Crusade, Gold Standard, Redoute’s Promise, William Longsword and Willow Magic.
Captain Al’s Cape Guineas winning son William Longsword has made a pleasing start to his stud career, and he has three two-year-olds on sale. Wallace Sword (Lot 89) is a colt out of a mare by top sire and Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, Execution Style (152) is a colt bred on similar lines to Swallow Stakes queen Woodland City and The Blackbird (Lot 278) is a filly out of the smart racemare Cassie O’Malley from the family of champions Gold Flier and Succesful Bidder.
Another young sire to have made a big impression is Bush Hill’s resident Dubawi horse Willow Magic. The latter is represented here by a filly (Lot 127) from the immediate family of G1 winning sprinter Shoe Shac and Mauritian stars World Focus and Green Keeper.
Pomodoro, whose progeny include G1 winners Return Fllight and Russian Rock, is represented here by Applehigh (Lot 107), a colt out of a winning daughter of G2 Tibouchina Stakes victress Red Dor, while former Leading First Season Sire Global View is responsible for Dragons Peak (Lot 302) -a half-sister to the talented Dragoon and a daughter of Ruffian Stakes runner up Dragon Lily.
Global View is a son of legendary stallion Galileo -as is the very exciting G1 Ranvet Stakes victor The United States. The latter is represented in this draft by Tabatha Cat (Lot 50), a filly out of Perfect Promise Sprint winner Kitti Cat, from the same female line as Galileo’s G1 winners Decorated Knight,Gleneagles, and Joan Of Arc to name a few.
Another two-year-old hailing from an excellent international family is Olympic Standard (Lot 228), a colt by Selangor Cup hero Gold Standard, he is from the same female line as leading sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac as well as current globetrotter Mishriff.
Short-lived Middle Park Stakes winner Crusade has four lots on offer including Miss Daisy (Lot 19), a half-sister to four winners whose dam is a half-sister to Majorca Stakes winner Wild Aster, Mission Rocks (Lot 196), a filly out of G2 The Debutante winner Tempted, and Lovers Lane (Lot 101) -a colt out of a full-sister to G1 SA Classic victor Love Struck.
