Nothemba Mlonzi Boasting The Winners
Nothemba Mlonzi who operates her Mwetwood Stud from Birnamwood, outside of Howick in the KZN Midlands, enjoyed a facile win with Khanyisa Indlela on Wednesday.
The Gimmethegreenlight 3yo gelding out of Crimson Lane by Street Cry has an impeccable pedigree, and galloped to victory in the colours of Rakesh Sewgoolam. The gelding has earned a cheque in all three of his previous starts.
It is an interesting pedigree, with the second dam being SAF-bred Elliodor mare, Crimson Palace – a 7-time winner in SA, UAE, GB & USA with two Gr1 wins, one in SA (Cape Paddock Stakes) and the other taking the Beverley D Stakes in America.
Nothemba currently has 40% winners to runners according to the NHRA website.
Others currently flying the flag for her farm include Sky Cafe who should win soon, and the talented Mvulazana – beautifully bred by Soft Falling Rain out of Tapit mare, Grey Light.
