Level The Playing Fields Series: Updated Logs And Gallery
An elated Billy Jacobson won the second leg (of four) of the KZN Breeders “Level The Playing Fields Series” on Sunday at Scottsville – putting him line for the jockey prize of R50 000.
His previous winning ride Putchini clung on bravely for second place under Craig Zackey – but Jacobson’s Bush Hill Stud-bred The Poet wasnt giving up on the dual and got his nose in front on the line of a very exciting dualling finish.
Wendy Whitehead and her connections won the second pool of the day – making it a double for sire Brave Tin Soldier with their filly Brave And Bold, ridden by Morne Winnar.
The next leg takes place at Scottsville over 1600m on 27 May, prior to the final to be run on 25 June at Greyville over 1400m.
A big congratulations to all involved and we look forward to what the next leg holds – keeping in mind the jockeys for each mount change each week after being drawn from a hat!
