Start Of The National Yearling Sale

Start Of The National Yearling Sale

The TBA National Yearling Sale kicks off today at 13:00, selling Lots 1-150 on the first day of the three day sale.

The catalogue of 449 horses this year has been hailed as one of the strongest ever, with several buyers inspecting this year commenting that their short lists are the longest they have had in years.

Sad news has filtered through that KZN-bred Futura’s Ideal World half-brother passed away recently, a horse that certainly would have grabbed attention this year.

View the KZN-breds on offer at the following link, with several choice lots available. They include siblings to Graded Winners such as a Silvano filly half-sister to Gr1 winning Gypsy’s Warning named Judy Silvano, Clifton Stud have a colt and filly – each half-siblings to Flash Drive and Bezanova, a three-parts brother to Gr3 winning Sarasota from Rathmor Stud – whilst the Scott Bros have a full-sister to Gr1 winning Orbison, and Hadlow have a half-sister to Celtic Fire by Bold Silvano, amongst many others.

Follow KZN Breeders on our Facebook page for live updates throughout the sale.

KZN-breds will be identified with hip stickers and posters on their stable doors. KZN-bred yearlings qualify for the KZN Breeders Race Day, exclusively for KZN-breds which sees stakes of over R2,6million to be won the day, including the KZN Breeders Million Mile.

KZN’s young sires that have attracted attention at the sale include Just As Well and Visionaire with successful first racing crops, with Golden Sword and Traffic Guard having their first crop of yearlings available for sale.
