Second Winner in Two Weeks For Freshman Sire A.P. Answer

It was an exciting announcement when A.P. Answer had his first winner from his first runner on 18 December – and he now follows that up with a dominating win on debut from Doug Campbell’s own-bred horse First Answer, winning on 29 December at Scottsville by almost two lengths in slightly soft going.

Ridden by Kevin Shea, the two year old colt was drawn fourth over 1000m. Out of Western Style by Shoe Danzig (out of an Our Casey’s Boy mare), he is owned by breeder and trainer Doug Campbell along with Messrs Morgan Pillay, SL Slabbert, MS Slabbert, PC Slabbert & GE Piggott, LP Yarnell, Mr L Govender & Miss Keshnie Govender, Mr & Mrs EC Yarnell.

First Answer is a half-brother to 4-time winner Catwalk Belle, Hit The Deck and Sassy Style.

From just five of his progeny to race, A.P. Answer now has two winners and a place – the other being filly Snow Call (bred by Bruce Campbell) at Turffontein – who was born and raised at Clifton Stud – the home of A.P. Answer.

Congratulations to Doug Campbell and the winning connections – it seems there will be much more to come from First Answer based on the ease of his debut win.
