Boundless Glory by Bush Hill Stud’s King’s Chapel, who is producing exceptional looking foals, ran third behind Holy Empire (Holy Roman Emperor) and Supernova (Carnegie City) in the Gr 3 Saas Fee Stakes in Singapore.
Previously named King’s Speech, Boundless Glory is out of the Stravinsky mare Stage Fright who herself was a one-time winner and to date has had five foals for three runners and two winners with Boundless Glory being comfortably the best of these.
Boundless Glory is now an eight-time winner. Other Bold Black Types by King’s Chapel include the 11-time winner King Montrose, King’s Ransom, Princess Emmy, Negotiate and Lady Chapel.
By King of Kings(IRE) out of Lower Chapel by Sharpo(GB) – King’s Chapel had 10 wins in New Zealand and Australia over 1200-1600m, and was Horse of the Year at 3, a Champion 3 year old and Champion Sprinter/Miler in New Zealand with a Rated Timeform of 123.
Starting his career as a 2 year old, he won the Super Bonus Classique (Listed) over 1200 metres. At 3, he won the Grade 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas over 1600m, the Grade 1 Telegraph Handicap (1200m), the Grade 1 Weight For Age Stakes (1400m) and the Listed Ray Coupland Stakes over 1400m.
He proved himself to be a sound, precocious and courageous individual, with plenty of speed.
King’s Chapel’s first crop of South African foals are now yearlings, outstanding specimens. Greenhill’s Gr 1 producing mare, Little Legend, has foaled to him this season amongst a host of others.
King’s Chapel stands for a fee of R15 000 this season.
Warwick Render concludes with: “King Neptune was the start of a great weekend for us. To back his win [Listed Michaelmas Handicap] up at the first meeting back at Greyville, Clairwood saw us with a second from Malkia, a third from AP Strike, third from Honour Malchizadeck and a win from The Queen who we bred and raised. On Saturday we had a 2nd from Bold Flash (half-sister to The Queen) and a third from Kimura Cat, both at Turffontein. Added to this is Kahal’s big win in Mauritius, with Tales of Bravery, and the facile win of Toreador’s son Darkness at Clairwood. All in all a pretty good weekend at the office!”
