Equus 2011 Awards
Equus 2011 Awards |
The KZN Breeders faired well at the Equus Awards, with the following horses and breeders doing KZN proud.
Congratulations go to Summerhill Stud for winning Champion Breeders for the 7th year in a row, equalling the Birch Brothers in this phenomenal achievement. They are responsible for bringing the fabulous Igugu(AUS) to this country, and she was rewarded for her Triple Tiara and Vodacom Durban July efforts by achieving the coveted 2011 Horse Of The Year award, as well as walking away with Champion Three Year Old Filly award and the Champion Middle Distance Horse.
Congratulations must also go to The Apache, winner of the Champion Three Year Old Colt/Gelding award. Well done to this son of Mogok, bred by Scott Brothers.
Another daughter of Mogok, this time bred by Mike and Tanya McHardy of Rathmor Stud, was Gypsy’s Warning, sharing the Breeder Award for Exceptional International Achievement and Equus Award For International Achievement with JJ The Jet Plane.
