Danedream wins the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

Danedream Danedream stormed down the centre of the course and drew off to easily win the $5,437,800 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Grade 1) at Longchamp today.

Danedream is a German-bred filly and she took command in the final furlong and went on to win convincingly under jockey Andrasch Starke.

The 3-year-old daughter of Lomitas is out of a Danehill/Hightop mare, and she is trained by Peter Schiergen.

Danedream led the way home in a sweep by the fillies in the race. Shareta held on for second, and Snow Fairy finding ground to take third, with So You Think finishing fourth.

The Lomitas dynasty has been strongly represented in South Africa by his son Silvano(Ger), with several stallions by Danehill standing in KZN.
