Bezanova, bred by Peter and Jenny Blyth of Clifton Stud, grabbed the Gr2 Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile on Saturday from a classy field of horses, with another talented KZN-bred, the recent Gr2 Joburg Spring Challenge winner No Worries finishing second. Triple Crown winner Louis The King finished in third position whilst Lockheed Star finished fourth.

The KZN-bred son of Bezrin owned by Chris Gerber and trained by Alec Laird, is out of London News mare Ananova.

Bezanova was a R150 000 sales graduate of the Emperors Palace National Two Year old sale in 2012. Starting his career in eye-catching style, Bezanova won his first two starts, and he now has four wins in total with four places. He has placed in a number of Feature races, including second behind Legislate in the Gr2 KRA Guineas and third to No Worries in the KZN Breeders Million Mile, as well as finishing just three lengths off Futura in the Gr1 Champions Cup.

Three-time winning Ananova is out of Lone Sailor, a dam-line responsible for producing the likes of half-sibling Gr1 winners Malteme and Wendywood. Ananova is also a half-sister to Time And Tide, who has produced the talented Split The Breeze (the latter being the Group performed first winner for Brave Tin Soldier).

Sire Bezrin has relocated back to the Cape after standing a short stint at Rathmor Stud. He has produced the likes of sprinter Jimmi Choo, stayer Thunderflash, Celtic Fire, Tandragee and Tetelestai.

Ananova has since produced beautiful individuals out of Clifton’s resident sire A.P. Answer, and we look forward to seeing them on track.

Congratulations to all at Clifton Stud.
