Backworth Stud’s Sweet Sweet Sugar Rush
Backworth Stud’s Sweet Sweet Sugar Rush |
Backworth-bred Sugar Rush won at Scottsville last Tuesday, 3rd time out, breaking her maiden after a 4th and 2nd place, for Tony Rivalland stable, with Brandon Lerena up.
Sugar Rush is by βMiesqueβs Approvalβ out of a Kenmare mare βSweet Sweetβ.
It was an exciting moment, as all of us at Backworth had a soft spot for the dam Sweet Sweet! We bought her from Chris Saundersβs Invermooi Stud some time back, after they had struggled through a few seasons to get her in foal. Having produced a good horse βMeet at Mala Malaβ, we saw a breeding opportunity in her top bloodline, and took the gamble.
She conceived to Miesqueβs Approval first season for us, producing βSugar Rushβ, but through numerous further coverings never conceived again!
Wanting to retain the bloodline for breeding, we race her with friends Gavin Cunningham and Chris Tyson.
It was also encouraging to watch Miesqueβs Approval notch up a further winner!
Congratulations to all the connections!
