#kznbreds At The National 2YO Sale

KZN has always produced a good horse from the National 2YO Sale, in particular the likes of Scott Bros’ bred Equus Champions Talktothestars and The Apache, and Bush Hill consigned Zimbabwe Gr3 winner Butchie Boy.

Amongst the #kznbred draft are several well related two year olds, including siblings to Gr2 winner The Mouseketeer (Lot 361 from Bush Hill Stud), a half-sister by Capetown Noir to Gr3 winner O Tamara (Lot 87) a full sibling to East Cape champion Kalamain (Lot 331) from Piemonte Stud.

Others to look out for is the Crusade early in the sale as Lot 34 from Spring Valley Stud out of Saltwater Girl – a full sister to Rapid Flow, out of the brilliant broodmare Surfer’s Eye. The mare has produced a winner from her first foal by Kahal and it isnt a family to be ignored.

Lot 425 from Spring Valley Stud is another to keep note of, out of in form Gr1 Vodacom Durban July producing stallion Twice Over, out of Passive Resistance. The dam has produced two multiple winners in Rainbowinthesky and Taking Chances.

Another interesting pedigree from Piemonte is that of Lot 92, a filly by Soft Falling Rain out of a Tapit mare. This is the family of the mighty chestnut Gr1 winner Dortmund, and sire Mogambo.

Crusade, who recently relocated to Clifton Stud, is flying at stud and producing multiple winners weekly. He has produced 47 wins this season with over R4,3-million in stakes earned, and four Black Type winners.

Eightfold Path has produced 19 wins from 40 runners to date, whilst Irish Flame from limited runners has had 13 winners including the sharp Sonny Bill Du Tooy, with 64 places from 34 runners.

Talktothestars passed through the National 2Yo Sale without a bid in his year, as did recent debut winning filly by Eightfold Path, Double O Eight.
