A son of Ritualistic who has served breeder Seymour Harley very well as a mare, Garrulous is by Wilgerbosdrift resident Byword, owned by Estate Late Mr B A Schwegmann & Mr H F Schwegmann.
Racing for Glen Kotzen, his form is impressive – with two wins and three places from all of his starts. He finished a flying second to Erik The Red in the EPOL UMKHOMAZI STAKES (Grade 2) and a winner of the KZN Breeders Juvenile Plate on KZN Breeders Race Day.
Garrulous is a nominee for the upcoming KZN Breeders Awards for 2yo colt.
Ritualistic is a daughter of Jallad, and dam of Fourth Estate who placed in two Gr3 Christmas Handicaps.
Howard Schweggman thanked Seymour Harley in his post race interview after taking the KZN Breeders Juvenile Plate, and acquired Garrulous after swopping him for their star filly Littleblacknumber – presumably for stud. “The first horse we got was Sweet Sesame had problems with her legs, and he [Seymour] said it wasn’t a problem and we could choose the next horse we wanted, and Meryl chose Garrulous. I want to thank Seymour whose integrity and the way he managed the whole situation was outstanding, so a big thank you to Seymour!”

Congratulations to all concerned.
