KZN Breeders Golf Day: McHardy’s Keep In The Family!

After Brad McHardy won the KZN Breeders Golf Day in 2015, his older brother Devon took the Ben Jonsson Floating Trophy and a voucher of R5000 towards the purchase of a KZN-bred yearling at the upcoming Sibaya KZN Yearling Sale. Devon is the son of Mike and Tanya McHardy of Rathmor Stud.

The field included trainers Mike De Kock, owners, stipes, vets, breeders and representatives across the Board of the Thoroughbred industry.

The overall winners went to four-ball Yogan Chetty, Caddy Kalian, Morgan Naidoo and Rowan Pillay with a score of 96. A bright but very windy day at Royal Durban saw the golf day with a full field of 144 players become rather challenging, but an enjoyable day was had by all concerned.

Warren Lenferna and Paul Lafferty hosted the prizegiving which saw 11 vouchers for a total of R55 000 given away towards the purchase of KZN-bred yearlings at the upcoming Sibaya KZN Yearling Sale, as well as a service to Noble Tune for the value of R25 000 won by Arther Potts of Hillcrest.

Goodersons Leisure kindly sponsored a midweek getaway to Drakensburg Gardens Golf and Spa resort, whilst the KZN Breeders Club put forward R25 000 worth of prizes on the evening to the first 17 four-balls that took part.

A big thank you to the sponsors involved which included Equine Administration, Bloodstock South Africa, Abloy Locks, Executrade Promotions, Spring Valley Stud, Bush Hill Stud, Crusade Syndicate, Gold Circle and Goodersons Leisure.

Well done to all concerned and thank you for a wonderful day!
