ITS WRITTEN IN THE STARS! ONLY SON OF SILVANO, CELESTIAL CITY TO STUD IN KZN
It’s a coup for KZN Breeding to have Celestial City, full brother to five-time Grade One winner Hawwaam standing at Henning Pretorius’s Summerhill Equestrian in Mooi River.
His sire Silvano hardly needs any introduction, a two-time multiple Group 1 winner in Hong Kong, Singapore and America, winning 7 races during his racing career, over a variety distances ranging from 1400m to 2200m, and was rated Timeform 126 at the conclusion of his racing career. He has had a profound influence on racing and breeding here in South Africa, producing many Grade 1,2, & 3 winners, and his brilliant son Vercingetorix who, like his sire, was a globe-trotting Group winner and is now a champion sire in South Africa. Recently the first two past the post in the iconic Durban July, Oriental Charm and Cousin Casey were both by Vercingetorix.
Celestial City’s dam Halfway To Heaven, a daughter of Jet Master and Grade 3 winner herself, has turned out to be an outstanding broodmare, producing the Grade One winners Golden Ducat (Philanthropist) and Rainbow Bridge (Ideal World). Thanks to her versatility at producing winners at the highest level, Halfway To Heaven was awarded the title of Broodmare Of The Year for 2018/2019 and 2019/20120 seasons.
Carrying a much-vaunted bloodline, Celestial City is a much-welcomed boost to the stallion ranks in KZN where he will stand alongside Act Of War, for a service fee of R30 000 LFF.

Greetings sir or madam
I’m Chamaine, a student in Equine Science from Tshwane University of Technology, I’m almost done with my studies just awaiting for result. I’m currently looking for place to grow my knowledge in equine science. I’m passionate about the equine industry and eager to apply my knowledge and skills in a practical setting. I’m currently seeking employment opportunities in equine care and management. I was working as student last year at strydom Arabian stud where I gain knowledge on some part of horse industry. Please contact me if you have any available positions.I’ll appreciate your response 🙏
Good Morning Chamaine.
Sorry for the late reply. At present there are no positions available that we are are aware of on the farms. However there is a course through Summerhill Equestrian, the Al Maktoum School Of Excellcen, where you get hands on practical experience as well as the written form, plus you get to actually work with the horses and go to various sales.
Here is their website with information – https://summerhillequestrian.co.za/visit-2/. Leigh Adams is the principal.
Good luck
Kind regards
