Jane Thomas of Far End Stables has welcomed some beautiful foals with lovely pedigrees this season. We have a look at a few of them.
The first is a beautiful A.P. Answer filly out of the mare Swala. The mare is by Alami out of Sovereign Wonder by Sovereign Dice(IRE). Swala was a winner at 3 and she placed 6 times from only 10 starts. She is the dam of 1 runner and 1 winner to date, a horse called Torero who is a 5-time winner in Mauritius.
The second dam, Sovereign Wonder is the dam of 7 foals, 7 runners, 7 winners including 5 time winner and Grade 2/Listed placed La Zingara and 4-time winner and Grade 3 placed Isibindi.
Make Merry has a filly by A.P. Answer. Make Merry is a beautifully bred mare by Rich Man’s Gold out of The Widow by Fort Wood. The dam was a winner at 3 over 1200 metres and she placed 6 times. Her dam The Widow has had 7 runners and 6 winners to date including Strike Again, a 4 time winner and multiple winner in Mauritius and Dead Cert, a 3-time winner and placed in two Grade 3 races.
This family includes the likes of Royal Mail, a 10-time winner, Imperial Jade – the dam of stallion Priceless Asset, and State Treasure, Dance of Diamonds and Tara’s Touch.
Dreambeliever foaled a filly by Fort Beluga (a beautiful son of Fort Wood) who passed away earlier this year at Spring Valley Stud.
Owned in partnership with Pat and Rob Standing, Dreambeliever is by Jet Master out of Electron by Centenary. Electron is a winner and placed 4 times from 9 starts. She is the dam of a winner, Two Tone Rocka by Bezrin.
French Minuet foaled a filly by Second Empire, who passed away recently after injuring himself coming out of anaesthetic. Owned by Mike Convery French Minuet placed twice at age 4. She is by Saumarez out of Sponge Gold by Goldmark. She is the dam of a previous as yet unraced filly by Ecomium.
This is the family of 6-time winner Beacon Beauty, Monterey Star who placed in the Grade 3 Egoli Sprint, Irish Limerick and 5-time winner Sudden Storm, as well as Phantom Saga, a 10-time winner including the Grade 2 Diadem Stakes.
The next is Jane Thomas’ own foal out of Kitz Blitz. The mare is by Announce out of Sonic Prospect by Secret Prospector, and has a lovely strong colt by The Sheik. Kitz Blitz is an own sister to Announce Speed, a 5-time winner including the Grade 3 Tony Ruffel Stakes.
This family includes the likes of Trade Enquiry, (herself a 9 time winner including placing in Graded races) Equus Champion Broodmare in 2009, and her progeny include Black-Type winners such as Count The Money, Buy And Sell and Bedloe’s Island.
Keeping Track – also owned by Rob and Pat Standing, foaled a colt by Mon Sang. The dam is by Rambo Dancer out of Karpakova by Northern Guest.
Keeping Track was a winner herself at 3 over 1600 metres and placed 13 times, has a 2 year old filly called Track ‘n Trace by The Sheik.
Her dam Karpakova is a half-sister to the brilliant Secret Rites. She is the dam of 6 runners and 5 winners. Her daughter La Massine has produced 8 winners to date including Rhythmically – voted Horse-Of-The-Year in Mauritius in 2003, and Variety Club – the winner of the Grade 3 Betting World Langerman.
This family includes Amazing Grace, Golden Chance, Son Of A Champ (ARCSA Champion 3 Year Old Colt in 1990) Cruso, Archbishop and 7-time winner Monastery.
