With foaling season well underway, we have a look at a few more of the new arrivals for the season at Rathmor Stud by sires Var, Atso, King’s Chapel, Strategic News and Mogok.
Time And Tide, by Baroon out of Lone Sailor by Hard Up, foaled a beautiful bay Var(USA) filly. Time And Tide is a four-time winner, including the Gr 3 Strelitzia Stakes and placing in the Gr 3 Umzimkhulu Stakes.
Time And Tide descends from a dam-line Rathmor has had great success with – having had the 11-time winning mare Grecian Gale, she produced Wendywood and Malteme.
Malteme won the Gr 1 Summer Cup, and Wendywood won her first two starts out – the second being the Gr 1 Woolavington 2000 at Greyville. Her third start was the Gr 1 Vodacom Durban July, where she finished just three lengths off the dead-heat of Dancer’s Daughter and Pocket Power and unfortunately she died shortly thereafter.
This family includes Gr 3 winner Camp Lover and Northern Land.
Hidden Silver by Silvano foaled a Mogok(USA) colt. Hidden Silver, out of Hidcote Blue by National Assembly, is a winner and placed twice from eight starts. Her dam is a half-sister to J&B Met winner Imperious Sue and sire Royal Air Force.
Hidden Silver is a half-sister to Gr 2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Hidden Beauty, a filly that won six times, as well as Hidcote Ridge – also a six time winner.
This is a quality dam-line that includes the likes of Kelly, sire Victory Moon, Gr 2 winner Spring Garland, winner in SA, UAE and the UK Imbongi, winner in the UAE and USA Mahubo, Gr 3 winning Oracle News and Turncoat to name but a few.
Purple Plume, by Argosy out of Purple Roller by Fordham, has an Atso(USA) filly this year. Purple Plume was herself a winner and placed twice from six starts.
Purple Plume has a three year old filly by King Of Kings and a two year old colt by Admire Main, Mr Admiration.
Her dam, Purple Roller, is a half-sister to 8-time winner Lunar Rainbow (including a place in the Gr 1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship, Gr 1 Benoni Diamond Guineas winner Michaelmas and Gr 3 In Full Flight Stakes winner Young Prince.
This dam-line also includes Greenacre, winner of the East Cape Derby Listed (and placing third in the Gr 1 SA Nursery) as well as Listed placed Cinnamon Sugar.
Dora’s Case, by Casey Tibbs out of an Elliodor mare named Iliodora, has produced a Strategic News(AUS) filly this season. Dora’s Case is a three-time winner and placed six times.
She has had two previous foals by Modern Day and Greys Inn. She is a half-sister to five winners who have produced nine wins between them.
Her third dam Britska is a full-sister to the dam of Dynamite Lady, a seven-time winner with victory’s including the Gr 1 Garden Province stakes, Gr 2 Merchants Stakes and the Gr 3 Rupert Ellis Brown Memorial Plate. This dam-line also includes Gr 3 winner Marla, Gr 3 Diana Stakes winner Marlagain and six-time winner include the Gardenia Listed Handicap, Picadilly Miss.
Arnold’s Choice, by Elliodor out of Susan’s Champ by Dancing Champ, produced a King’s Chapel(AUS) filly this season. Arnold’s Choice, a winner who also placed four times, is the dam of four-time winner Badge Of Choice who has placed seven times, as well as London Society who is a winner and placed three times.
Second dam is Susan’s Elect, a four-time winner who is a half-sister to Susan’s Idol (five-time winner) and Susan’s Dream, a filly who won eight times including the SA Fillies Sprint Gr 1, and Keith Hepburn Champion Stakes.
This is the family of Hammie’s Hooker – a four-time winner including the Kenilworth Fillies Nursery Gr 3 as well as a Listed race; she has won or placed from all her starts.
Flotilla, by Spaceship out of Jungle Strand by Jungle Cove, has produced another lovely foal by Strategic News(AUS), a filly this year. Flotilla is herself a three-time winner with nine places. Flotilla has a good-looking dark bay yearling colt by Strategic News.
Her dam Jungle Strand was also a winner, and has produced seven winners to date including seven-time winner King’s Beach and five-time winner Jungle Beach as well as 3-time winner Second Sea Lord.
Jungle Strand is a half-sister to Grade 2 Premier’s Trophy winner King Shore (by Foveros) full sister to Jungle Sands, Grade 3 Drill Hall Stakes winner.
Midinette, by All Fired Up out of Mihidi by Northern Guest, has produced a strong filly by Strategic News(AUS).
Midinette is a three-time winner and placed ten times at the track. She is the dam of Wooden Gold (by Woodborough), a two-time winner who has placed 17 times.
This family includes Bold Black Types such as 10-time winner in Britain and the USA, Floroyal(GB), Sir Fandango(GB) who is an eight-time winner in Austria and Gr 1 National Sprint winner in Britain, Royal Bride(GB), as well as On The Bench(USA), a nine-time winner in the USA and Gr 2 winning sire Prince Sabo(GB).
Bejewelled Beauty, by Rambo Dancer out of Birthday Message by Roland Gardens, has produced a big Strategic News(AUS) colt.
Bejewelled Beauty has produced Awesome Beauty (by Cataloochee), a two-time winner who has placed seven times, including a third in the Three Troikas Stakes Gr 3.
This dam-line includes Fine Regent (ARCSA Champion Three Year Old Colt), Villiers (Horse Of The Year in Mauritius), multiple champion (7x) Gr 1 winner including the Durban July, Over The Air, Gr 1 SA Derby winner Secret Service, Gr 3 winner Bold Messenger and Mister Morse.
