FLYING THE FLAG HIGH FOR KZN RACING: Flag Man shines
The Daily News 2000 & the Woolavington 2000 race day yesterday at Hollywoodbets Greyville produced some enthralling racing, showcasing the best horseracing as Champions Season builds up to the “big one”, the Hollywoodbets Durban July on Saturday 6th July.
KZN Racing is riding high after the brilliant Herculean effort from the Clifton Stud bred Flying The Flag – Irresistable Chris gelding Flag Man, who just missed out on a win in the G1 Daily News 2000, when he engaged in a ding-dong battle with the Dean Kannemyer trained favourite, Green With Envy in the home stretch at Hollywoodbets Greyville yesterday afternoon.
Jockey Serino Moodley rode one of the races of his life as he duelled with Craig Zackey for the victory. Trainer Gareth van Zyl, has worked wonders on getting Flag Man to peak at the right time, and he must surely now be considered a firm Durban July prospect! Well done as well to owners Messrs L M Nestadt, Reon Barnard, D D MacLean & G J Player.
Great head on shot of Flag Man duelling with Green With Envy in the dying strides of the race, thanks to Anneke Akal Kitching
