Flying The Flag Debut Winner!

Bush Hill Stud’s resident and bred in the purple sire Flying The Flag, enjoyed a debut winner this afternoon at Fairview for trainer Gavin Smith.

The three year old gelding named Al Falak sold for R150 000 to Form Bloodstock at the 2019 National Yearling Sale, and descends from one of Bush Hill Stud’s special leading families – that of Gr1 winners Zirconeum and Stellite – the latter who retired to Bush Hill Stud.

Al Falak is out of Plutonium – the dam of Black Types King Neptune (Listed Winner and Gr3 Placed) and Stella Mia, 4 wins and Gr3 placed.

This is the second winner for Flying The Flag in three days – his previous being 2yo filly Catch The Cat – another from Bush Hill Stud from their immediate family of Gr2 winner The Mouseketeer and Lt Jerry Mouse.

Flying The Flag has seven yearlings represented at the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale taking place on 1 & 2 July. They including a half-brother to Black Type filly Linear as well as a half-sister to 9-time winner and Listed Placed Aranjuez.

Flying The Flag is a Galileo full brother to sensational multiple Gr1 winning sisters, Rhododendron and Magical.

Flying The Flag stands at Bush Hill Stud.
