Clifton Stud, breeders of numerous top-class horses including former July winner and Horse Of The Year Classic Flag, will be bringing an attractive draft to this year’s KZN Yearling Sale.
The farm’s KZN string is made up of lots sired by a host of different stallions including Canford Cliffs, Captain Of All, Mambo In Seattle, New Predator and Oratorio, while Clifton will also be offering, as agent, yearlings by Flying The Flag and Master Of My Fate.
One of the most striking aspects of this string is the influence of the very classy racemare She’s A Winner.
The latter showed tremendous ability early in her career, with the daughter of Joshua Dancer following up an easy debut win when thrashing subsequent dual G1 winner Forest Path by two and a quarter lengths in the G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes of 2008.
She’s A Winner ranks as granddam of three lots in Clifton’s KZN Yearling Sale –Cliff Hanger (Lot 18) is a Canford Cliffs colt whose dam Luneburg is a Var daughter of She’s A Winner, Captain Of All filly Proud Fortress (Lot 54) is out of She’s A Winner’s four time winning daughter She’s A Fortress and Stolen Star (Lot 60) is an Oratorio filly out of She’s A Winner’s Silvano daughter Star Silvano.
The latter filly is also bred on the same Oratorio/Silvano cross as recent Listed Hollywoodbets Super League Devon Air Stakes winner Canadian Summer.
Clifton has been in fine form of late, with the stud responsible for breeding a pair of winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday, in the form of Captain Casey and Run Again, as well as Golden Tune, who won a good race at the Vaal yesterday.
