Blue Sky Thoroughbreds Top Day One Of KZN-breds At August Sale


Spring Valley topped Day 1 representing the KZN-breds at the August 2YO Sale.

Bruce Le Roux and Tinus Gericke of Blue Sky Thoroughbreds who have brought an impressive draft to the sales, sold a half-brother to multiple winner and Gr2 placed Rapid Fire early in the sale to the Hollywood Syndicate for R300 000.

Vanessa Williams followed suit with a Gimmethegreenlight filly on offer named Green Bubbles. She sold from Keivan Stud, based in Greytown, for R240 000 to Stuart Pettigrew who knows a thing or two about finding a good “Gimme” – as the previous trainer of South African and Australian Gr1 winner Yulong Prince (formerly Surcharge), she is beautifully bred out of a Dynasty mare from a Gr1 winning New Zealand family.

The first of three Act Of War’s on offer at the sale saw a lovely colt out of Queen Diva, a full sister to Listed Winner and Gr2 placed Delightfull Diva, knocked down to Hollywood Syndicate for R160 000.

The balance of the Gr1 producing Act Of War’s will be sold today from Cornerstone and Keivan Studs.
