Another Winner For Kahal In Singapore
Mighty Emperor collected his second win in Singapore for Pat Shaw, the son of Kahal winning over 1600m by a length.
The Summerhill-bred out of Sweet Virginia by Casey Tibbs has now won twice and placed four times, earning stakes of over S$55 000 – Kahal is having continued success in Hong Kong with the likes of Lovely Naughty flying the flag.
His dam Sweet Virginia, out of a Royal Prerogative/Oligarchy mare, has also produced Stronghold colt Strongman – a winner of the Listed Sophomore Sprint and Gr3 placed as well as a Visionaire half-brother to Might Emperor, named Vilikazi – in training with the stable of Brett Crawford.
Vilakazi has won and placed from both of his starts at Kenilworth over 1200m and sold for R450 000 at the 2014 National Yearling Sale, consigned as agent by Drakenstein Stud. The mare has a 2014 Twice Over colt coming through.
This is the damline amongst others of Smart As Paint and Dancewiththedevil.
Kahal is currently lying in 5th position on the National Sires Log, with a winners to runners percentage of 35.1%.
Standing at Bush Hill Stud prior to his passing, Kahal’s last crop of foals were born in 2015.
