100 not out!
Champion #KZN trainer Michael Roberts achieved a unique honour at Hollywoodbets Greyville yesterday afternoon, when Chara Sands, bred by his wife Verna, gave him his 100th winner as a trainer.
The winning partnership Roberts and Rachel Venniker is well-known in racing circles, and has become one of the most visible and successful around.
Rachel Venniker herself hardly needs any introduction:, already a star jockey, she made history earlier this year in February when she became the first South African born female jockey to win in Saudi Arabia, after she won the US$400,000 (R7,63m) Invest Saudi International Jockeys Challenge Stakes.
Its seems appropriate then, as Chara Sands was Michael’s only runner of the day, that he should give Michael this unique milestone.
