After passing through the TBA National 2YO Sale as unsold in 2013, the Scott Bros’ Talktothestars has been knocking on the door for a big win and it came in the Gr2 Senor Santa Handicap at Turffontein on Saturday, his eighth career win to date. He has a Mogok half-brother coming up at the National Yearling Sale, a full brother to two winners.
The Scott Bros have 12 Two Year Olds ready to go into training. They are by Kahal, Mogok, Miesque’s Approval, Overlord, The Sheik, Atso, King’s Chapel and Curved Ball. They include siblings to recent winners TIME MARCHES ON and BEACH COTTAGE.
The KZN Grooms Training Course took place this week over three days and finished yesterday, taking place at Summerhill’s School of Equine Management Excellence. A big thank you to Sam Sharkey for all her effort, Leigh Adams, Elize and Kabelo Pitori for all their teaching assistance, as well as the Thoroughbred Breeders Association of South Africa, Elsenburg Agricultural College and Singayenza for making it possible.
Spring Valley’s resident sire Just As Well earned a double yesterday at the Vaal, with two year old colt Chilli Con Carne winning his second start after placing second previously, and Just Africa adding to the day to get his second career win.

Summerhill’s young resident sire Golden Sword, the only son of High Chapparal at stud in South Africa, has seen his full-brother, All Body And Soul, get his second in Ireland over 2400m for trainer Tracey Collins. The 2012 gelding has had just five starts, winning twice and placing once.
