The KZN Breeders Series Log for 2YO’s has been published (points as of 9 April 2018) and congratulations to the combination of Piemonte Stud and Alan Greef who lead in the first two places – with a top filly by Oratorio, Carlita, and Alfeo (by Crusade) respectively.

Gary and Colleen De Klerk of Summerview Stud are sending a single lot to the Nationals – Lot 425, a classy dark bay filly that stands over ground and oozes plenty of quality. The Elusive Fort filly named No Money Honey is out of Trippi mare, Harlem Nocturn.
Warwick and Karin Render of Mooi River, KZN purchased Lot 336, named One Kiss, as a weanling and donated him to their staff at Bush Hill to prepare for the yearling sale. Although this is a private initiative by the farm, it is part of a greater drive by the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association of SA, to encourage transformation at all levels within the stud farm industry. “This gives our staff equity in the business and a tangible stake in the results from a sale”, says Warwick Render of Bush Hill Stud.
Clifton Stud, breeders of one this season’s top fillies in Covered In Snow, will be represented by nine yearlings at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale next month. A list of yearlings registered with the KZN Breeders Premium Scheme at the upcoming National Yearling Sale, that will qualify for the KZN Breeders Race Day from 2019.

This bay, a half-brother to 2 winners, is out of a 3 time winning ¾ sister to G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Fez and half-sister to the top class broodmare Salaam. The latter produced the high class, Kjell bred siblings Eastern Greeting, Kwinta and Kalaam.”
The Apache produced his first juvenile winner at Greyville on Sunday for trainer Gavin Van Zyl, who trained The Apache to Gr1 success when the son of Mogok was in South Africa.
