CLIFTON STUD TO OFFER A PERFECT TEN AT 2YO SALE
Clifton Stud will be offering ten two-year-olds, four as agent, at August’s National 2YO Sale, with the farm’s draft including lots by such stallions as Flying The Flag, Ideal World, Mogok and Toreador.
The draft also includes two-year-olds from the families of such high-class performers as Saxon Warrior, Dr Devious, Jet Master, Lorenzaccio, Diesis and Kris –to name but a few!
Top-class stallion Ideal World, whose progeny include this season’s G1 Sun Met winner and G1 Vodacom Durban July runner up Rainbow Bridge, is the sire of a half-sister (Lot 70) to three winners including Swallow Stakes/Bauhinia Handicap winner Covered In Snow, while Galileo sire Flying The Flag is represented here by a filly (Lot 99) whose dam is a half-sister to Horse Of The Year and seven times champion sire Jet Master.
Storm Cat sire Mogok, whose progeny include the likes of Gypsy’s Warning and Wild One, is the sire of a filly (Lot 238) whose stakes placed dam is a Royal Academy half-sister to Australian G2 winner Famous Roman, while Philanthropist filly Ventriloquist (Lot 2) is a half-sister to five winners including exported G2 Dingaans runner up Vacquero and high-class filly Vino Veritas.
Proven G1 sire Toreador, sadly now deceased, is the sire of a half-sister (Lot 15) to Zimbabwean star Madigan, with this filly hailing from the same family of Champion Stakes winner Lorenzaccio (the sire of outstanding sire Ahonoora).
Regally bred Breeders’ Cup runner up Noble Tune has two lots in Clifton’s draft –a filly (Lot 17) out of a dual winning half-sister to the stakes placed Starring Emma, and a half-sister (Lot 90) to three winners notably G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes runner up Beckedorf. The latter filly hails from one of the best families in the stud book, with her relatives including English classic winners Dr Devious, Dancing Rain, and Saxon Warrior.
Other intriguing lots in this draft include a filly (Lot 20) by The Assayer from the family of champions Kris and Diesis, and an Eightfold Path filly from the family of G1 winners O Caesour, National Currency, Laverna, and Harry’s Charm –as well as current rising star African Warrior.
