YELLOW STAR TO OFFER FIVE AT KZN SALE
Koos and Lorraine De Klerk’s Yellow Star Stud will be offering five classy yearlings at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale.
Yellow Star’s draft consists of yearlings by all of Vercingetorix, Bezrin, Willow Magic, The Assayer and Jackson.
The latter, a triple G1 winning son of Dynasty, is represented by a colt (Lot 54), whose dam (bred on the same cross as champion The Apache) is a winning daughter of the stakes winning Bravo Bambay and whose relatives include current high class performer and millionaire Dawn Assault.
Yellow Star’s resident Galileo stallion The Assayer is represented here by a colt (Lot 77) whose dam is out of a stakes winning own sister to Equus Champion Young Rake, and who is also a three-parts sister to the Judpot sired champion Along Came Polly.
Dubawi’s G1 SA Nursery winner Willow Magic’s first crop were well received at this year’s National Sale, and he is represented in the Yellow Star draft by a colt (Lot 111) out of the National Emblem mare Golden National. The latter has produced six winners, notably G3 King’s Cup winner Lady Magpie and high-class fillies I Like It and Legal Account. Further back this is the family of recent Kings Cup hero Dark Moon Rising.
Jet Master mare Jillnaar, who hails from the same female line as champion King’s Chapel, star sprinters College Chapel and Parsimony, and leading sire Mummy’s Pet, has a well related colt by boom sire and Equus Champion Vercingetorix on sale, while Danzig’s well bred son Bezrin, whose progeny include the likes of Bezanova, Too Phat To Fly and Jimmi Choo, is represented by a filly (Lot 267) who is a full-sister to the smart Sutherfeni and whose dam is a half-sister to Cape Derby hero Shah’s Star.
The 2019 KZN Sale is set to take place on July 4th and July 5th and looks to provide some great opportunities for discerning buyers to acquire quality thoroughbreds for reasonable prices!
