The first son of the great Redoute’s Choice to retire to stud in South Africa, Bush Hill Stud’s Redoute’s Promise has his first crop of yearlings on offer at sales this year.

News in yesterday is that his promising Hard Spun half-brother, Hard Promise (AUS), placed a close second after maintaining that position from the start, in the Gr3 Ladbrokes Zeditave Stakes at Caulfield over 1200m on Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes day.

Hard Promise has only had five starts for two wins and two places from 1000m to 1300m. His first win in his second start saw him take it easily by three lengths for trainer Robert Smerdon at Cranbourne in a maiden plate over 1000m.

Redoute’s Promise’s Fastnet Rock half brother More Energy, is a four-time winner with five places behind his name over distances of up to 2020m. The six year old lightly raced gelding has been nominated to run in the Schweppes Sydney Cup on 8 April over 3200m.

South African international Gr1 winning super star mare Perfect Promise, by broodmare extraordinaire Caesour, won eight races over distances of 1000m – 1600m.

After winning the Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas, Gr3 Diana Stakes and the Listed Prix Du Cap, she carried forward her good form to land the Australian Gr1 CJ Orr Stakes and the Gr2 Emancipation Stakes.

Her full sister Irridescence also had her share of South African Gr1 wins in the Woolavington 2000 and SA Fillies Classic, and would go on to beat sire Australia’s dam, the great Ouija Board in the Gr1 QE II Cup in Hong Kong, after securing a Gr2 in Dubai.

His sire Redoute’s Choice has been a phenomenon at stud with three Champion Sire titles, 28 individual Gr1 winners and a sire of sires at stud – he has been crowned the best son of Danehill at stud today.

His sons at stud are excelling with the likes of Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt and Stratum. Snitzel looks to be taking the crown from his sire with 43 Stakes winners to date (28 Group level) and seven $1 million+ yearlings in 2015 & 2016.

Redoute’s Promise stands for just R5000 at Bush Hill Stud.
