Equus Awards: Summerhill Stud And Talktothestars Winners
Summerhill Stud and Scott Bros made KZN proud at the Equus Awards on Tuesday evening at Emperors Palace.
Mick Goss and his team were on hand to receive their 10th Equus Award for the National Leading Breeders title, an outstanding achievement indeed. Summerhill produced 39.7% runners to winners for the 2015/2016 season, and bred several Graded Stakes winners including dual Gr1 winner Rabada and Gr2 winner, Heaps Of Fun.
Mick Goss, looking the picture of health gave an emotional speech and thanked his team as well as all those who had supported him through his illness at the beginning of the year.
The Scott’s were on hand to receive the award for their son of Overlord, Gr1 Tsogo Sun Sprint winner Talktothestars, who took home Equus Champion Sprinter from a strong category.
The big bay gelding trained by Coenie De Beer has had a phenomenal season, winning and placing at Kenilworth, Turffontein and the tracks in KZN in multiple Graded Stakes races. The Scott Bros received last year’s Equus Award for Champion Stayer, awarded to the now deceased Mogok gelding, Wild One.
Congratulations to all concerned on their outstanding achievements!
