National 2 Year Old Sale Kicks Off Tomorrow |
The National 2 year old sale kicks off tomorrow at the TBA Complex in Gosforth Park. Lots 1-125 go on sale from Friday 12 August at 18:00pm, Lots 126-250 on Saturday 13 August at 18:00, and Lots 251 – 486 on Sunday 14 August. The TBA website www.tba.co.za will be having a live sale video stream for the duration of the sale.
KZN is represented by a significant amount of studs at the sale, and below are a few of the quality horses on offer:
From Keivan Stud is LOT 5 by Victory Moon out of Hello Dolly called HAPPY PLACE. This by filly is a half-sister to the now deceased Goat, Another Goat, and Satchmo’s Girl. LOT 95 by Miesque’s Approval(USA) named DROVE ALL NIGHT, a bay colt out of unraced Midnight Folly. This colt’s 3rd dam is Pillow Talk, ARCSA Champion Broodmare in 1989. She is the dam of 9 runners; 9 winners including Sire Goldmark, Midnight Melody, Dream Come True and Two Strikes.
Bush Hill Stud have some nice individuals for sale, including LOT 88 by Miesque’s Approval(USA) named FIONNUALA. Out of Mansfield Park, this filly’s fourth dam is London Wall, Equus Champion Broodmare in 1998, dam of racehorse and sire Horse Chestnut, Cape Badger, Mr Brock, Monyela, Iron Curtain, Rawl Plug, Corkwood and Hilti.
LOT 23 is a grey colt called JAMAICAN JET by Ravishing out In The North. The dam is a half-sister to Certainly, the dam of Wolf Whistle, Avant-Guard and Definitely.
LOT 383 is by Newton(IRE) and this bay colt is has yet to be named. He is the 6th produce of Colne Valley, a 4 time winner of R235,595 including the Allan Robertson Fillies Championship, Grade 1, Ascot Fillies Nursery, (Listed). She is dam of 5 runners and 3 winners including Robberttown, Luna Playa and County Down.
Scott Bros – Highdown Stud – have a number of nicely bred 2 year olds. LOT 41 is a bay filly called OCEAN ADVENTURE, and she is by Miesque’s Approval(USA) out of Josey Wood. Josey Wood is the dam of none other than Ingleside, a 12 winner of R2,815,721. Her other progeny include Royal Union, and she comes from the family of Evening Mist.
LOT 52, JUST PROMISE is also by Miesque’s Approval(USA). She is the first produce from the mare Kelly’s Promise, and her 3rd dam Meretricious was Equus Champion Broodmare in 2006, and she is the dam of Perfect Promise and Irridescence.
LOT 112, BLUE BERRY a colt by Miesque’s Approval(USA) out of Mulberry, who in turn is out of Taineberry(AUS), 6 time winner and the dam 6 runners and 5 winners Jalberry.
LOT 119 is a filly by Miesque’s Approval(USA) called NATIONAL APPROVAL. She is out of National Favourite, a winner herself and the dam of 2 runners and 2 winners. The 3rd dam is Golden Flo, ARCSA Champion Broodmare in 1994 of 11 runners and 11 winners including Supreme Royal, Royal Flo (Sire), Foverflo, Arctic Flo, Just Like Al and of course Flobayou, ARCSA Joint Champion Sprinter in 1994, Champion Sprinter and Joint Horse of the Year in 1995, Champion Older Male Sprinter in 1996.
LOT 322 is called LORD ROSE by Overlord(AUS) out of 4 time winner Apache Rose. This makes Lord Rose a half-brother to The Apache, and this yearling will attract some interest at this sale.
From Yellow Star Stud acting as Agent on LOT 57 is a Victory Moon filly, called Silver Wand. She is the second produce of Kiss My Class, and her second dam is Please Be True, a 7 time winner and from the family of Autumn Glory.
Spring Valley Stud has LOT 390 a Victory Moon colt called BLIZZARD OF OZZ out of Countess of Ozz(AUS). Countess Of Oz is a 4 winner and the dam of 2 runners and 2 winners including Miss Zummerudd and Ozzie Dude.
Hadlow Stud has LOT 400, an unnamed colt by Sarge out of Dance Tattoo. Dance Tattoo is a sister to War Lord, Emperor’s Dance – the dam of Dancewiththedevil.
Clifton Stud (Pty) Ltd have a chestnut filly by Atso(USA) LOT 415 named Divine Atso, out of unraced Divine Madonna. Divine Madonna is the dam of 1 previous foal, which is now a winner called Madam Madonna. This filly being offered comes from a very strong family. Divine Madonna is herself a half- sister to Fort Vogue. The second dam Vogue, a 5 time winner is a half-sister to Night Watch, Highland Night, Prince Asad and Warm White Night (now standing his first season at Klawervlei Stud).
