Barton Hall Stud: Congratulations
Barton Hall Stud: Congratulations |
Ken and Lynne Twort would like to applaud trainer Duncan Howells training feat of getting the Barton Hall-bred Kahal gelding Bwana Macube, who appears to be an extremely difficult horse to train, to win three times and place once from his last four races.
Bwana Macube is out of Shee by Braashee(GB) and won his last start at Scottsville by three lengths, defeating Albert at level weights.
His dam Shee is out of Wheels ‘n Deals by Northern Guest. A six-time winner herself (three in Zimbabwe) she won over distances of 1200 – 1800m and placed 18 times. She placed twice in two Listed starts, and third in the Gr 3 Acacia Handicap. She has produced two winners to date, including a full-brother to Bwana Macube, named Scaky Phane also bred by Barton Hall, who has also won and placed from both his starts at Kenilworth, trained by Dean Kannemeyer for owners Marcus and Ingrid Jooste.
Shee’s half-sister is Miss Entrepeneur, a mare by Red Ryder who is also standing at Barton Hall Stud and who has produced a winner with Crooked Deal(ZIM). Miss Entrepeneur has a lovely filly, a chestnut yearling by Admire Main. She has another half-sister by Muhtafal, a five-time winner named Deal A Double.
The dam-line goes on to include multiple Graded Stakes winner Gold Panner, as well as Persian Summer and Leading colt of his generation and sire, Majestic Crown. He had 11 wins which included amongst many Stakes Wins the Grade 1 Holiday Inns and Grade 2 Natal Derby, as well as Summer Guest who won the East Rand Juvenile Grade 3. Other stand-outs in this pedigree show Majestic Sun, Sun City, Blushing Moon, and the good racemare, who won the Newmarket Turf Club Stakes Grade 2 and dam of 5 winners, Vino Rosa.
A R200 000 yearling graduate of the 2009 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale who is owned by Duncan Howells and Mr & Mrs RAJ Nidd, Bwana Macube has now won five races and placed nine times in total.
