Three Winners In One Week For Breeder Anton Proctor |
Anton Proctor had three of his beautifully KZN-bred fillies win within a week, Tapaway and Patchit Up Baby winning at Scottsville on Sunday and Dangerous Diva going on to win at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Starting with three year old filly Tapaway [pictured right], trained by Robbie Hill who has retained a share with Messrs M Gullan, Andre Fouche and T K Lundy, Tapaway is by Captain Al out of Countenance by Counter Action.
She has raced over three KZN courses for seven starts and yet to be out of the placings.
Tapaway ran within three quarters of a length to Alboran Sea in April last year, in just her second start. This is her first win at Scottsville over 1000m, beating Triptronic and Corresolve into their respective places. Tapaway is a graduate of the 2013 National Yearling Sale where she sold for R160 000.
The second win of the day came from an Ideal World filly named Patchit Up Baby, of which Anton owns in partnership with Larry Nestadt [Lead in pictured above].
The bay filly out of Qui Liz by Benny The Dip, is trained by Duncan Howells.
Stepped up in distance after her debut over 1200m, she went on to place in only her second start over 2000m and won again over same course and distance in very soft going, steered home by Stuart Randolph to comfortably by over a length.
At the Vaal on 3 February Dangerous Diva, by Jet Master out of Pacific Blue by Model Man, bagged her first win over 1200m. The talented three year old filly has placed from all five of her previous starts.
Owned by Mr P U Van Schoor and trained by Lucky Houdalakis, she is also a graduate of the 2013 National Yearling Sale, where she sold for R150 000.
Congratulations to Anton on a wonderful achievement!
