Flying The Flag Colt Sells for R700k
A highly regarded colt by Champion trainer Paul Peter, Electric Gold – unbeaten from his last three starts – has sold at the Turffontein September Sale for R700 000 to Suzette Viljoen.
The son of Flying The Flag was born and raised at Bush Hill Stud for owner Mr H Da Costa and was consigned at the Paul Peter stable dispersal on Friday afternoon.
Out of extraordinary broodmare sire Goalkeeper mare Gold Lass, the half brother to respected Ouro is a handsome individual who stands over ground and bears a striking resemblance to his world champion paternal sire, Galileo. This is the female line of Brave Move.
His maiden win saw Electric Gold as a two year old at the time, beating a field of multiple winners and older horses. He went on to win twice more, painting him as an above average colt who was going to be aimed at a few features in Gauteng for the coming season prior to the sudden closure of the Peter stable.
Flying `The Flag’s European Champion sister Rhododendron has kicked off her stud career with a Gr2 winner of the Leopardstown Champions Juvenile Stakes, a colt named Auguste Rodin.
Flying The Flag has relocated to Riethuiskraal Stud.
