Backworth-bred Varlet, by Var(USA) out of Miss Unimac(AUS) by Bellotto(USA), won impressively at Turffontein Saturday, in the J&B Met Made Different MR70 Handicap (F&M) over 1800m, for trainer Brian Wiid, with jockey Gavin Lerena up.
The four-year-old chestnut filly takes her career record to 2 wins and 5 places from 13 starts.
Varlet is a graduate from the Backworth draft of the 2009 National Yearling Sale.
