Redoute's Choice Fee Announced
| |
Bush Hill Stud stand the first son of Australian sire sensation Redoute's Choice in South Africa, a very big and handsome four year old Redoute's Promise who covered his first season in 2014.
His paternal half-sister, the grey Majmu, is making waves across South Africa after her stunning win in the Gr1 Laurie Jaffee Empress Club Stakes at Turffontein on the weekend.
Her trainer Mike De Kock announced after that Majmu is likely to be taken along the ‘Daily News-Durban July route.’
Mike de Kock said on Sunday: “We’ll be discussing Majmu’s future with Sheikh Hamdan and Angus Gold, we’ll be looking at export flight schedules, but at this stage the Durban July via the Daily News is the most likely option we’ll exercise with her.”
Bred by Arrowfield Stud and owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum, Majmu has won six races, and placed once from seven starts - all of them Bold Black Type, including two Gr1's back to back.
Yesterday Arrowfield Stud announced their 2015 service fees for its ten-stallion roster, headed by three-time champion sire Redoute’s Choice [pictured right], represented this season by four Gr1 winners and his 65th seven-figure yearling. In March 2015, he had totalled 123 Stakes Winners during an epic career.
He is hailed as the worlds best son at stud of Danehill, joined by a few of his own sons at Arrowfield Stud, champions in their own right - Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt have produced approximately 25 Stakes Winners each, including Gr1 winners.
"Redoute’s Choice is once again available to breeders at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST," stated Arrowfield's website. His 24th Gr1 winner is the brilliantly fast Lankan Rupee, Australia's top rated horse and the worlds best sprinter.
Redoute's Choice is also the sire of South African successes Wylie Hall, recent Gr2 Colorado Stakes winner and the centre of the 2014 Vodacom Durban July controversy which eventually saw him being relegated to second position in favour of Legislate, as well as Mike De Kock's brilliant Musir who has since gone on to stud.
Carrying the same imposing stature as his great sire and handsome head, Redoute's Promise is out of the brilliant South African mare Perfect Promise by top broodmare sire Caesour. Redoute’s Promise was unraced due to an injury in training prior to him having his first start.
The third foal produced by Perfect Promise, a Gr1 winner in South Africa, she made history when she won the Gr1 C F Orr Stakes - the first South African bred to win a Gr1 race in Australia.
Perfect Promise was winner of eight races from a distance of 1000m up to 1600m, including the Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas, The Diana Stakes Gr3 and the listed Prix du Cap and a second in the Gr1 Majorca Stakes.
Perfect Promise also won the AJC Emancipation Stakes Gr2, and placed second in the Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap and the Gr2 Theo Marks Stakes.
Her full sister Irridescence who not only was a local Gr1 winner too, having won the Woolavington Gr1 and the Fillies Classic Gr1, but she also went on to break many Australian hearts when defeating their beloved champion filly Oiuja Board (dam of Australia) in the Gr1 QE II Cup in Hong Kong after winning the Gr 2 Balanchine Stakes in Dubai.
Redoute's Promise stood for a fee of just R5 000 in his first season and we look forward to his first foals arriving in 2015.
