First Foal For Noble Tune At Rathmor
| |
Noble Tune's first foal has been born at Rathmor Stud to Australian mare Silent Nights, a two time winner by Catbird out of a Palace Music mare.
The colt, a first for his dam, is a strong stamp of his sire in his head and looks with three white socks.
Silent Nights, who also placed five times, is a half-sister Tawny Run and Wailing Countess, the latter is the dam of 2015 Gr3 winner My Sabeel. Tawny Run(NZ) was exported to Dubai after five wins including two Listed wins, and placing in two Gr2's.
Noble Tune is the first son of Unbridled's Song to stand in South Africa and a half-brother to Honor Code, who took home his second Gr1 win in the Whitney Stakes over the weekend. Prior to winning the Whitney, his Timeform Rating stood at 120. The son of A.P. Indy has been hailed as one of the best in the USA currently racing next to American Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.
Silent Nights(AUS) and Noble Tune
Rathmor have acquired a number of outstanding broodmares to fill his book in the first season and their progeny are eagerly anticipated this year.
Noble Tune is descended from one of the best families in the studbook, his fourth dam being Serena's Song who won 18 races, 11 of them Gr1's.
The family also includes Gr1 Coronation Stakes winners Rizeena and Sophisticat, as well as sire Puissance Du Lune. Noble Tune, a winner of a Gr2 and Gr3 in the USA who also placed second in the Gr1 Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, is also a half-brother to world record priced weanling filly by Tapit, who sold for $3-million at Keeneland earlier this year. His younger Bernardini half-sister, Lady Serena, is a two time winner and he has another younger brother by Tapit named Morse Code in pretraining.
Noble Tune's book is almost full for the 2015 season ahead and with much excitement surrounding him, he has attracted mares not only from KZN but the Cape too.
His fee for his second season at stud is R25 000 (R5 000 nomination and R20 000 live foal).
