Tropical Empire(AUS) To Stand at Yellow Star Stud This Season
| Share |
Tropical Empire (by Second Empire - Tropical Touch by Pago Pago) has arrived to stand his first season at Yellow Star Stud. Imported from Australia, he ironically is standing at the same farm as his sire Second Empire(IRE). Originally he started his training career with Michael Roberts and was then moved to Duncan Howells.
He has an impressive race record, with 40 starts, 11 wins and 11 places and won a total of R1 185 610.
His wins include the Betting World 1900 (Grade 2) over 1900m and the Drill Hall Stakes (Grade 2) over 1400m.
He ran second in the Sunday Tribune Byerly Turk (Grade 3) over 1400m, the Cup Trial (Grade 3) over 1800m and Drill Hall Stakes (Grade 2) over 1400m, and a fourth in the Christmas Handicap (Grade 3) over 1600m.
His owner "Chips" Pennells has described him as the best horse he has ever had. Tropical Empire has an exceptional turn of foot, as well as possessing a lot of speed. With his good temperament and pedigree he looks to be an exciting prospect for our mares, as well as mares imported from Australia. He has a free cover to selected mares.
