Gr2 Place For Clifton's Bezanova In KRA Guineas
| |
Clifton Stud's Bezanova placed second behind Legislate in the Gr2 KRA Guineas run at Greyville racecourse yesterday over 1600m in good going.
A striking chestnut son of Bezrin out of Ananova by London News, the three year old KZN-bred was a R150 000 graduate of the 2012 Ready To Run Sale. Finishing behind winner Legislate, Captain America (Captain Al) and Top Jet (Jet Master) placed third and fourth behind Bezanova.
Trained by Alec Laird and owned by Mr M C Gerber, Bezanova has had nine runs, winning twice and placing three times - the balance of his runs saw him finish just out of the placings in fifth position. His previous start saw him finish just three lengths off the mighty Louis The King in the Gr 1 SA Classic, the second leg of the Triple Crown over 1800m.
Going into Champions Season, Bezanova will certainly be one to add to the watch list.
Mare Ananova has also produced a 2011 A.P. Answer, the currently unraced filly named The Right Answer [pictured below at the 2013 National Two Year Old Sale].
Ananova is a three-time winner out of mare Lone Sailor, also the dam of Gr3 winner Time And Tide (by Baroon). This is the immediate family of Champion Gr1 winning half-siblings Malteme and Wendywood.
